Accessibility

ActivIdentity Corporation is committed to making its website broadly accessible, including to users with disabilities or impairments that occur with aging. For guidance, ActivIdentity refers to the accessibility best practices and standards defined by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act.

ActivIdentity strives continually to improve the accessibility of its website. All new pages must meet a set of accessibility requirements that includes:

  • Aids to navigation for screen-reader users; for example, proper markup for identifying the page title (e.g., an <h1> element)
  • Text equivalents for images and image-map hot spots
  • Support for browser settings for enlarging text and user style sheets
  • Consistent navigation mechanisms and presentation styles throughout the site
  • Keyboard navigation of webpages
  • Identification of the primary natural language of each page
  • Although JavaScript is used on the ActivIdentity website, essential function on most pages does not require it. Pages that do use JavaScript for essential function are tested for compatibility with assistive technology.
  • Accessible HTML alternative versions of Flash content

ActivIdentity also uses automated tools and manual procedures to perform accessibility testing on new content management applications. Publicly available pages on actividentity.com are monitored regularly using automated tools.
