GlobalPlatform
GlobalPlatform is the world leader in smart card infrastructure development. Its proven technical specifications for cards, devices, and systems are regarded as the industry standard for achieving interoperable, sustainable, and flexible smart card deployments that support multi-application, multi-actor, and multi-business model implementations. GlobalPlatform is a member-driven association with cross-industry representation from every continent. As of October 2008, an estimated 305.7 million GlobalPlatform-based smart cards had been deployed globally, and an additional two billion mid-range USIM/SIM cards worldwide are estimated to use GlobalPlatform card technology to enable over-the-air (OTA) application downloads for 3G and Global System for Mobile (GSM) mobile networks.

 

 

The Smart Card Alliance
The Smart Card Alliance is a not-for-profit, multi-industry association working to stimulate the understanding, adoption, use, and widespread application of smart card technology. The Alliance invests heavily in education on the appropriate uses of technology for identification, payment, and other applications and strongly advocates the use of smart card technology in a way that protects privacy and enhances data security and integrity. Through specific projects such as education programs, market research, advocacy, industry relations, and open forums, the Alliance keeps its members connected to industry leaders and innovative thought. The Alliance is the single industry voice for smart card technology, leading industry discussion on the impact and value of smart cards in the United States and Latin America.

 

 

Open AuTHentication (OATH)
The Initiative for Open AuTHentication (OATH) is the industry’s leading collaboration of device, platform, and application companies and end user customers of authentication technologies. OATH participants foster use of strong authentication across networks, devices, and applications. OATH participants work collectively to facilitate standards and build a reference architecture for open authentication while evangelizing the benefits of strong interoperable authentication in a networked world. As OATH grows, the organization actively incorporates feedback and technology contributions from end-user participants who share a common vision for open authentication technology and the products that provide this important measure of security. OATH is dedicated to assisting customers with the reduction of cost and complexity of deploying strong authentication within enterprises and across the Internet. Since its formation in 2004, OATH’s membership has included security industry leaders from token manufacturers, platform vendors, smartcard providers, and security services companies. End user companies join OATH to add their voice and ideas towards the goal of open authentication.

 

 

Intellect
