ActivIdentity DisplayCard Tokens

The ActivIdentity DisplayCard Token and the ActivIdentity Smart DisplayCard Token are credit card-sized solutions that fit easily into a wallet or purse. When needed, they quickly and easily generate and display on the card a one-time password (OTP). Whether used as a consumer authentication device for online banking or to enable remote access by an organization’s employee base, ActivIdentity DisplayCard Token technology is customizable to any organization’s needs.

ActivIdentity DisplayCard Token

The ActivIdentity DisplayCard Token is designed to enable consumer authentication (e.g., online banking) or remote access by an organization’s employee base. It provides the security of a token in a convenient card format and facilitates mobility by allowing users to generate dynamic one-time passwords without the use of a card reader.

ActivIdentity Smart DisplayCard Token

The ActivIdentity Smart DisplayCard Token combines the security of a token with public key infrastructure (PKI) features for online authentication in a smart card form factor. The ActivIdentity Smart DisplayCard Token is embedded with a smart chip that supports standard smart card PKI capabilities such as email encryption and digital signatures. The token supports two user authentication modes: connected smart card mode for corporate-issued machines or disconnected Smart DisplayCard mode for authentication using a kiosk or mobile device.

ActivIdentity DisplayCard Tokens offer the following benefits:

  • Reduce user frustration associated with complex static passwords by transferring complexity to the DisplayCard Token
  • Support full range of user authentication scenarios including kiosk and connected modes
  • Simplify physical security when combined with proximity technology for an all-in-one physical and logical access card
  • Increase convenience and portability by using a credit card form factor that does not require a card reader
  • Increase protection of corporate resources by replacing the use of static passwords for user access with non-repeatable, one-time passwords
  • Support customized printing to match corporate branding or to create a multi-purpose photo ID

ActivIdentity DisplayCard Tokens include the following features:

  • One-time password generation based on the click of a button
  • One-time password authentication based on Initiative for Open Authentication (OATH) standards
  • When deployed with a server-side PIN, support for two-factor authentication based on “something you have” (a DisplayCard Token) and “something you know” (a PIN)
